Eye Examinations
Our eyes are used for everything and it’s so important to try and maintain their health and vision. We advise regular examinations, at least once every two years and for some categories such as children at least once a year.
Our examinations will have some common tests for everyone and some which will be tailored specifically to your requirements.
We are interested in finding out about your general health, family ocular health and lifestyle as this gives us an idea about any recommendations we need to make.
We spend a fair amount of time checking your vision and ensuring it can be the best for all of your day-to-day tasks such as driving, reading, using the computer or even for any specific visual tasks you may have.
The rest of the examination is spent looking at the health of your eyes and will include close examination of the anterior and posterior surfaces of your eyes. You may have your eye pressure checked using the i-Care pen which doesn’t involve the traditional puff of air, and also a visual fields test which looks at your peripheral vision. We eagerly await our OCT and Optomap equipment to give you the most technologically advanced test on the high street.
We will always conclude your examination with a full explanation of our findings and will make any suitable recommendations whether it is to do with your general or ocular health or to do with your vision and subsequently options for correction. Throughout the test you will be given every opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
One of the things that sets us out from the crowd is the fact we will take time with you. We allow a relaxed 30-40 minutes for our examinations which gives us sufficient time to carry out all the relevant tests and spend time discussing things with you.
