OCT & Optomap
*Coming Soon to the practice*
Our hospital grade equipment, the Optomap, provides us with a wider image of the retina. This allows us to see further out of the back of your eyes compared to standard retinal photography. This enables us to spot any retinal changes such as tears and holes more easily.
We measure Intra Ocular Pressure (eye pressure) using an iCare tonometer – this is used by many hospitals and is a much more accurate way of measuring compared to the common puff of air test. Coupled with our equipment that can measure corneal thickness, we can make a more accurate diagnosis.
Our OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) machine gives us a 3D image of the layers of the retina which cannot be seen using standard equipment. This safe scan allows detection of eye conditions such as glaucoma up to 5 years before traditional methods or monitor conditions such as macular degeneration.
Our ethos is all about providing exemplary eyecare in a relaxed and friendly setting. When COVID restrictions lift, we will be happy to chat away with nice cup of tea or coffee.
